I'm a massive Yes fan so I think I can be objective about Wakeman.Frankly his solo playing makes me laugh. His twiddly arpeggio style brings Richard Clayderman to mind! So cheesy. Emerson offers much more colour and imagination in his compositions, much richer harmonies. Technique-wise - look at Wakeman's left hand - it hardly does anything. Emerson's left hand work is phenomenal - total left-right brain separation. Wakeman has fast right hand but it's all single note stuff. No chord technique.
