every phrase has a unique edge to it. i would really like to meet him and know what his mind works like. there is no "ummm" or "errrr" or "you know..." in his guitaring. he plays every note eloquently with precise articulation. like he means it.
there wouldnt have been an eric johnson were it not for jeff.

so nice to finally see this guy in action. never knew he used fingers instead of pick or that he controlled the whammy the way he does. Eric Johnson says Beck virtually created the bending technique that emulates a synthesizer roller wheel. always thought he did it by pulling the strings. i still love his work on Stevie Wonder's Talking Book album, especially his unforgettable solo on "Looking For Another Pure Love."
