It's good to see your interest and zeal and interest in such subjects. I think it would be advisable for you to practise saying the names of people as the way you say them doesn't sound very pleasant at all!Also, when you want to include speech with music, you need to work on the engineering a bit :) Like when you stop speaking you should raise the sound of the music and not leave it blank like you do on this recording ;)Keep up the good work!

Well I am another American who loves rai. I have followed rai for over 20 years, and have many cassettes (no, they are not bootlegs) that nobody I know has - all different rai artists. I understand some of the words here and there, but it's the beauty the music that speaks to me, and I love the wonderful blend of musical styles. It's truly the soul music of Algeria. I love the modern sounding rai but it was the rai that uses drum machines, gasbah, derbouka, etc. that first captured my heart.
