Thank you stuthehistoryguy- that's all I'm tryin to say. Other times in life when such irony/sense of humor is not a good idea: when the secret service guy overhears you "just joking" about killing the president. When airport security detains you for "just joking" about a bomb. Practical jokes at the altar in your church. That sort of thing. It's not that we don't "get it". Slavery was common only a short time ago in our history so it's no wonder some of us get a little upset ya know?

Racist is how to describe this song, ignorant or not. This is equivalent to you visiting your grandmother's house, with all her damn cats running around, and "satirically" asking her "Can I stroke your pussy?" and "I want to stick my penis inside your pussy!" with a shit-eating grin on your face, and when she expresses shock, say "What? You are saying I agree with the history, the bloody history of slavery b/cause I like the re-telling of it in this form. No No No I do not. And no I do not speak for all black people but The Rolling Stones are just re-telling this sad part of American history another way. Just as plays, movie, peoms, dances, etc were done, they are just speaking of a sad part of history in a song. In my heart I do not believe The Stones were making fun of it.
