will out compete those who don't. Organisms with deleterious variation will lose to all other organisms. In this way the ENVIRONMENT SELECTS the best organisms. This has the effect of passing beneficial mutations on to the next generation and removing deleterious ones. Over time natural selection wi
ll lead to a net shift in the genome of the population, i.e. evolution. Yes, this really is evolution. Changes in allele frequency, changes in gene expression, and changes in transcription factor binding efficiency, they are all evolution. Logic predicts evolution, and observation confirms it. E

Well, I suppose that answers my question. But there again, you make arguments against yourself, for when genes pass down from one generation to the next, they change and the genes of both parents mingle, creating a new creature in the process. If evolution did not happen then all offspring would be exactly the same as one of their parents. Also, breeds wouldnt exist, all dogs would be the same all cats etc. The fact that we can breed dogs to attain certain traits in them proves evolution.

You see, the reason that we are not exactly like our parents is because we get half of the chromosomes from each parent, thus having half of the mom's traits and half of the dad's.

Oh sweet god, you are dumber than a box of hair. Genetic variation, which you just used in your argument, is the BASIS of evolution. THATS HOW EVOLUTION WORKS! Evolution has been observed many different times, most notably on Dafne Major (an Island in the Galapagos) look it up.

this program clearly isn't meant to be an accurate model of how fast evolution takes place. also each person on average will have appx. 120 mutations at birth, most do diddlly squat, some make very minor changes, such as a slight difference in skin shade, maybe a genetic disease, and very rarely they do something drastic like 6 fingers (actually a dominant allel), or being 7 feet tall.
