Bill Laimbeer - dirtiest bball player in the history of prof roundball. I grew up watching this guy play. This video doesn't show nearly anything like what he really was on the court. He was entertaining to say the least. I'm not bashing him, but I'm not a fan of his neither. If you played against him, better wear goggles, jock strap and a groin cup. I'll never forget when Robert Parish punched him twice and Bill hit the floor bleeding.

I can't figure out how much I don't like Laimbeer. There is a part of me that admires his competitiveness and tenacity, however he was also a major league (pick a four letter word). I guess I don't like him because he could have used all of that competitive energy to uplift his teammates and his own game instead of trying to get under his opponents skin. There was a reason no foul was called when Robert Parish punched him in the face twice during game 5 of the 1987 ECF.

I miss Laimbeer. Body of a dork and the heart of a lion. He also had some talent. Great inside passer, amazing free throw shooter and 3 pointer. The Pistons were an amazing team in 1989 and 1990. They broke Jordan's Bulls year after year, which eventually made Jordan a more well rounded team player, walked over the Celtics, and put the Magic's LA Lakers back in the has been category. Those were the days when the basketball was fun to watch. Watching Kobe puts me to sleep.
