The point on inflation is good, but I just watched " The Money Masters " on youtube which speaks out against a gold standard. The reason is because over the past hundred years or so virtually all gold has been horded by central banks especially the IMF. Any comments on this?

This is a good explanation of inflation and how it is destroying the value of the dollar, but what you failed to mention is the root cause: the fractional reserve banking system set up by the Federal Reserve. The Fed is the cause of the problem because it can create money out of thin air and it charges interest to the government to do it. If you want to understand the Federal Reserve, I refer you to Chapter2 of the excellent book "Wall Street and the Rise of Hitler" by Antony Sutton. Reading it now and it's an excellent book. You yanks should be ashamed of your secret past! Check out the bit on war criminals and George Bush's grandfather! LOL

Your comparison of the gold price and the inflation is flawed. As long as the universities are not require to be paid in gold you will only lose they raise the prices. Gold has become a means for speculation and thus is no indicator for inflation. I also cannot understand why the prices must rise when there is more money in circulation.

maybe because the currency is being diluted - which in turn costs MORE dollars to purchase the SAME amount of goods.... If you fail to understand that, then you certainly have no fvcking clue as to what you've said in the latter portion of your statement. Gold still has the SAME amount of purchasing power as it always has. The simple notion that it is for speculation is laughable. That's bologna. The primary determinant of the dollar's strength is the trade deficit, which Bush has allowed to get way out of hand (and then he went and tried to blame the dollar's decline on the Chinese). The value of the dollar peaked in late 2000 and then suddenly it started dropping the same month Bush became president.
This is just another example of how this president has flushed this economy straight down the crapper.

The value of the dollar can be controlled despite the effects of trade. Putting the burden of blame on Bush is only a fraction of the problem. Maybe what this video is missing is "How money is made." The government might be spending too much, but it doesn't help when assholes like Greenspan and Bernanke continue to print money on debt that is already inflationary. Brush up on your history, and you will see that Clinton deserves an equal amount of blame for this fiasco.

There are other factors that have an effect on the dollar's value, but those too, are not in our favor right now. Since the economy is so weak, the Fed has been forced to either cut interest rates or leave them unchanged. This weakens the dollar. Bernanke is a bumbling, incompetent fool who has turned out to be one of the worst appointments Bush has made during his entire presidency.

Tell me this,what is the point in having money at all? Why have money? I prefer the barter system...if someone has something you want,and lets say you're a carpenter,and they want something built,then you build them that,
in for an equal amount of what you want...
everything is equal,and there would be no need for money,but then the government would have no power of the people.I believe a revolution is needed,otherwise more will die for the governments power...
