oh yeah...the cubical...I worked at SGI for a year and a half in a vast sea of cubicals...it was like a scene out of 1984 only with exspresso machines and foosball tables...awful awful...I'm with you-- never again... (thanks)

Yeah me too...but I think it comes form being overstimulated really. There is no solitude in the city, so I think we create it - and sometimes that means we seem shut down - ignoring the people around us...I think its because we were not meant to live in such tight quarters...

I also share the bemusement at how people use false ideas about animal characteristics, and draw the wrong conclusions about nature and man. nice video. Got distracted when I was first going to watch it but luckily remembered to return. cheers.

oh thanks pyrrho I'm glad you came back, I really enjoy your stuff!
yes definately - I ... ( 11 months ago by CityzenJane)
yes definately - I think it's also interesting that people think that humans are unchangable and mechanistically determined - they don't seem to know much about epigenetics... I always have to look to the ideology of the speaker...I mean all you have to do is look as how much the roles and opportunities for women have changed to know that what was 'known' about women, was pretty false...

Wondering how 1.5 years in an sgi sea of cubicles compares with 0.9 years on a local UK electronics shop floor when assembling and testing sgi Octane2 boxes was a veritable highlight. There were no espresso machines or football tables for worker ants like us. Said Celestica site was shut down and the jobs shifted to parts of the world where labour is much cheaper long ago, naturellement.

1973 O-level biology didn't cover ontogeny as recapitulation of phylogeny, but my very amateur Greek helped. I've been much enjoying catching up on your back catalogue - or is that perhaps just my mirror neurons firing? Whatever, thanks for the gentle introduction to YouTube thoughtfulness - I'll try to get myself equipped for video responses soon.
Hey! Thanks! Yep - ... ( 9 months ago by CityzenJane)
Hey! Thanks! Yep - I would never compare my 'suffering' at SGI with well the actual suffering of the vast majority of people on the planet... Looking forward to seeing your stuff!

I'm thinking human nature has been retarded (and or killed) by stupid laws, and a controlled media.

I disagree with the idea of 'original sin,' and I think if everyone was aware of what we are doing to the world; (and abandoned 'blind faith') things would be very different. (in a good way)
I recently watched "Story of Stuff" on Google, and it was the best 20 minutes I spent at my PC in a long time.

I found this by google searching for epigenetics and human nature, and I'm so glad this video turned up...You seem to have delineated how malleable "human nature" is so much better than I ever could...I'm just so tired of determinists trying to limit and define what it means to be human...
