thanks for posting, The Rats were my favourite band of all time, Irish born, English based
I feel that they were very underrated, partlt 'cos Geldof had a long running feud with the UK press, & also because their type of music varied from punk/new wave (She's so Modern/Looking after number 1, to classics like Mondays & Rat Trap, then a long hiatus til Mondo Bongo & a different softer type of music

In the world of today the name Banana Republic is given to the countries or estates which have just Puppet Governments which can just be crushed or turned like a banana in any direction. Why does this situation arise? Authority Tends To Corrupt and Absolute Authority Corrupts absolutely. If any powerful country tries to impose its law or strength on Banana Republic it just crushes like a banana and can't repel against any immoral act of that country.

ok ok!! but they started off as a punk... they just did what alot of punk groups did... turned to new wave and kids bop artist... there music changed and stuff but they still were influenced by punk... and were a punk group who just went pop

Darling, ...I understand how you "could" suggest that they "WERE" punk PRIOR TO the creation of the label "new wave" BUT, this video would'nt ever be considered anything less then a fusion of reggae-new wave-pop, etc.

lol u said darling. i never suggested the video was punk... i know this is a fusion between reggae and kids bop.. and based on music historians and their music histroy they will always be consider punk/new wave who fused other genres of music together.. there like well round artist or somethin like toto... terrible comparison just wanted to be funny
