Video Description:
This ridiclously small Tesla Coil system that I built only stands four inches tall. It is the smallest TC that I know of to this date. At full power, the TC uses 2.4 watts. The rotary gap pager motor uses a seperate power source. The 12oz pepsi can shows actual size.

| and i alwas thoght bigger was better with my 10kVA pig!!!!!!!! this is SO CUTE about a year ago i made a 5kV 10 mA coil for a frend and used a large CPU fan for the ARSG motor and it worked very well.. and is that a bering for a topload! CUTE !! |

| How about a squarewave variable frequency function generator and a power MOSFET or power IGBT. Then switch the current on and off from a DC power supply through the primary. Then set the square wave signal generator to the resonant frequency of the secondary. This is a HF induction coil. To make it a true SSTC, put a capacitor either in parallel with the transistor or the primary coil, and pick the capacitance so the L of the primary and C of the cap make the resonance the same as the secondary. |
