Episode 1: Invisible http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eWw1AKWMkv4 I haven't even started uploading this, the first part of Episode 2, and I already have two huge problems with it. #1 is that Desmond would want to see the other missing splice, but Locke turns the filmstrip player off. Really wish
I hadn't made him do that. I can only just write it off as "Well, Desmond watched the rest of it and didn't think much anything of it." The other problem is the insinuation (by the end) that Michael and Walt are the reason that the ship is out there. The only way that's going to work is if Mich
ael got together with Penny. And a lot of people will say there's no way in heck he found her in a month. But if time were moving as much slower as Marvin Candle says it is in the outside world, he would have actually had 13 months to find her, or for her to find him. (This also conveniently work
s to help with the "Walt's Age" issue, though admittedly not much.) As far as that goes, it's still up in the air what exactly happened after Michael and Walt left the island in the first place. I'm toying with the idea that Walt physically disappears from the boat (because it turns out he was jus
t "projecting" himself, which it seems like he's done before). Michael gets sent into a frenzy, so of course he wants to get back, and that could play into how he and Penny end up joining forces in the search. Of course, that would also mean that Walt never left the island, so he wouldn't have age
d faster. Decisions decisions. I'm sure the mathematical inconsistency may be glaring to some, as well as Locke's suddenly becoming a walking calculator. 108 minutes multiplied by 13 is actually 1404 minutes, while a day consists of 1440 minutes. I'm not sure if I'll ever be able to find out wha
t happens with that other 36 minutes per day. Thought maybe I could do something with leap year, but heh, good luck with that! Another thing that always bothered me about the button-pushing was that you could actually put in the code, even when the timer still had four minutes remaining. So if yo
u were to always enter the numbers right as the timer got down to four minutes, you would be entering the code every 104 minutes, not every 108. I'm just going on the assumption that if the numbers are entered early, the leftover time is added on to the next 108 minute period, and nobody notices si
nce the timer doesn't count seconds when there is that much time remaining. It may be worth looking over Season 2 again for any such times that the numbers were entered and the timer still read "108:00" at a point that was obviously a few minutes later. Since I'm uploading this on September 11, he
re's something else kind of cool; if you watch closely as the timer resets itself, there is always a brief fraction of a second before the numbers flip back to 108:00 that the last three digits read 9:11. Pretty weird, huh? As far as the use of Morpheus from "The Matrix", well to be honest I didn'
t know what else to do. Eventually, new characters will have to be introduced (and the people on the ship are going to be a complete nightmare, but I promise I won't use any "Pirates Of The Caribbean" shots!), so I had few options other than to use myself or use some random actor. I had this idea
from watching "The Matrix Reloaded" the other day that maybe Michael would have grown his hair out, and I could use shots from that movie (in which Harold Perrineau plays with long hair) to show Michael in upcoming episodes. I might still do that, but that was part of what led to me eventually usin
g Morpheus as a character in this episode. It's not actually supposed to BE Morpheus, it's just a Dharma guy who happens to look like him... okay, and also just happens to live in a dark house with two red chairs next to a fireplace. Like I said before though, I'm just kinda making this up as I go
along, and at this point I guess it has become something of an experiment to see how easily certain unplanned discrepancies and other questions can be "rationalized" away. I'm totally certain, especially based on postings I've seen at www.thefuselage.com, that I have no business doing this at all.
But as long as nobody else is gonna do it, I might as well!
