FAN-MADE VIDEO, NOT FOR PROFIT
NO INFRINGEMENT INTENDED
PLEASE READ BEFORE VIEWING!!! Seriously, this video might not make any sense if you don't. This video has taken me MONTHS to complete and I'm incredibly happy with how it turned out. It's over 8 minutes long, contains 13 songs, and is SLASH, but sort of canon slash, so none of those "OMG that wo
uld never happen!" comments. Oh, and I made a poster: http://i267.photobucket.com/albums/ii319/wicked_visions5/greatergood_teaser.gif Spoilers for "Deathly Hallows" and various comments J.K. Rowling made after the book was released. This is the tale of Albus Dumbledore and his complex and ultimat
ely tragic relationship with Gellert Grindelwald. I've actually used very few clips from the HP movies and instead use clips from the TV miniseries "Merlin" to represent the characters. I'd give it either a heavy PG-14 or a light R. The clips I used show sex scenes (as presented on TV shows, so not
graphic), and violence (some clips taken from movies, so rather more graphic). It starts out with Albus and his friend Gellert meeting up in the forest. The two head back to the Dumbledore house, where they try to figure out where the Hallows are and how they will improve the Wizarding World "for
the greater good". Albus' little sister Ariana interrupts the two and Albus shouts at her to leave them alone. His brother Aberforth witnesses this and is unhappy. Later at Gellert's home, Albus feels guilty for how he treated Ariana. Gellert comforts him and the two kiss and then make love. Later
that day they ride back to the Dumbledore house. Gellert confesses fears that Albus doesn't feel the same way he does about their relationship. Albus responds with a kiss. Aberforth sees the two interacting and knows that Gellert is a bad influence on his brother. He, Albus and Gellert get into a f
ight, Aberfoth shaming Albus by reminding him of how he treated Ariana. Gellert stands up for Albus and Aberforth warns Gellert to stay away from his brother. As the fight intensifies, nobody notices Ariana slipping quietly into the room. Wands are drawn, curses are cast, and a victim falls. Albus
holds his little sister and realizes that Aberforth was right. He blames Gellert for Ariana's death and Gellert realizes this is the end. Months later, Albus sits at Ariana's grave and tells her that Gellert has left for good. Years pass and Albus is now an adult. He has changed the way he thinks
, no longer believing in "the greater good" and superiority to Muggles. Gellert still posses these beliefs and has become a Dark Wizard. Albus knows this, but he doesn't want to face his old friend to put an end to his evil. One night, Albus has a dream/vision that Gellert has obtained one of the H
allows, the Elder Wand. He immediately rides out to confront his ex-lover, only to be accused of betrayal by Gellert. Albus realizes he can't hope to defeat Gellert by appealing to their shared history and leaves. Gellert meanwhile causes chaos, pain and death with the Elder Wand. After part of his
vision comes true, Albus decides that he can wait no longer and calls Gellert out for a final fight. The two duel and somehow Gellert loses. Albus takes the wand, then comforts Gellert, who almost seems relieved to have been defeated. Albus, however, is distraught, because while he knows Gellert
doesn't have the wand anymore, he is still a Dark Wizard and must be placed someplace where he can't hurt anyone. In the wizard prison Nurmengard (which ironically bears the motto "For the greater good" on it's outter wall by the front enterance) Gellert comes to terms with how he will spend the
rest of his life, and all that he has lost. Year later, Albus stares into the Mirror of Erised and sees his heart's desire: a reconciliation with Gellert and his brother, and Ariana, still alive. But he is old enough and wise enough to know this can never be. As always, I've listed all the movie c
lips and songs at the end of the video, the songs in the order that they are used, not that I expect it will stop anyone from asking me if I used clips from "Fight Club" or what the name of "that song" is. As usual, this is a fanvideo, not-for-profit, no infringement intended. Other notes: - I kno
w the duel between Albus and Gellert took place when they were in their 60s (according to the timeline), but considering how long wizards tend to live, I believe they would have looked younger at that age, hence them looking more like their in their 40s in those clips. - The assumption that Albus a
nd Gellert were lovers is just a guess. I know Albus was in love with Gellert, and I think it makes it that much for tragic if Gellert reciprocated those feelings but still turned evil. - Aberforth does not hate Gellert because he and Albus are lovers; he is not homophobic. He hates him because of
the reasons stated in the book and by J.K. Rowling.

He's such an amazing character...
Also, I loooove this version of Merlin, I need to watch it again I think. Mordred as Aberforth is just genius!
I thought that this was absolutely incredible, really very very good. The bit just before the end, the mirror, pretty much killed me and I don't even like Dumbledore, I hate him for what he did to Snape. Also, I loooove this version of Merlin, I need to watch it again I think. Mordred as Aberfort
