2 minutes to midnight is a reference to how close the world was to nuclear war in the 80's, if its something like, 12 minutes to midnight, its ok, if its a lower number its not. like the artwork for this song, there is a nuke going off in the background, and all the flags hung up, still awesome though, love the solo's =D

To be honest, bands SHOULD be better live. If they aren't better live than on the record than why would people want to go to the shows? I hate to pick on a band but DragonForce is kinda guilty of this. Their albums are very energetic, but it just doesn't transfer over in their performance. Look at videos of them playing live, they usually just can't get the crowd into it.

Actually, I'm a Dragonforce fan, and I... Agree with you. XD I know, that's a rare thing. But I do think they are getting better at playing live. They have a lot of room to improve, but it doesn't change the fact that I love them. But Maiden is awesome too <3
