No stupid, this is a combination of 3 incidents dealing with violence and suicide in school. Vedder went to school and got in a fight with one kid who shot up a classroom. The second is a story about Jeremy Delle from TX who committed suicide in front of his class. The third is one Vedder heard about on the news, which explains the partly cloudy, 90210 news headlines. It is suicide not murder, and it is based on a real person named Jeremy Wade Delle.

Jeez read for God's sake. No, he killed himself in front of the class. He was late and sent out to get a tardy slip. He went by his locker and returned with a gun he had, telling the teacher he got what he went after, took it out and shot himself in front of the class.

The song is about Jeremy Wade Delle, who killed himself in front of his class at Richardson high school in Texas. Like 1strwbryblondnc said, he killed himself after getting a gun from his locker, said "Miss, i got what i really set out for" and shot himself in the mouth...

Wow. I'm well aware that music offers many meanings to different people. But not every song does that. This song does not. It is about Jeremy Wade Delle and a kid Eddie went to school with. It's not a matter of opinion. To think otherwise is to take what was meant to inform people of depression and teen suicide, in order to prevent it, and say "fuck you" To a real person who had no one to help him through life. Why? cause "you think its about something else"... grow up.
