This should be the song at my funeral because it means so much to me, i listen to it since i'm eleven ; i'm sixteen now and i know the song from my father! since the moment i listened to that song i started apreciating music. Who gives a shit how fast, it's not been voted the best solo ever written for it's speed, just listen/watch to the emotion that goes into it, this solo has MEANING, it's not a mindless generic shred like our modern shredheads worship. Broaden your tastes

really now? pink floyd has been know for fast and slow ,but no matter what it always has emotion and even if its with rodger waters david gilmour or syd barrett(god let his soul rest) they have always been good and who cares about speed just because you played guitar hero and thought dragon force is good because they have the hardest song in the game well i hate to break it to you but its just 2 diffrent guitarists and a paino doing what it is

Believe me, there are plenty of guitarists who play 100000000000 times way better than david gilmour. He's not playing anything special. nothing against his music but I don't think that he's such a good guitarist.He's just overrated. I'll probably get many "thumbs down" by Gilmour fans - but who cares :D

For technique or for what he is playing.. no gilmour isn't the best. But as far as a musician and his tone.. he is golden. Few come close.

I know that glimour isnt the best guitarist ever!...but he is my favorite. Even though i know, for example that SRV or Duane Allman might rate higher than glimour in some lists i would listen to glimour over SRV on most night. Thats just my taste. Everyone is different.
