His definition of "small government" means cutting the military from important areas. Withdrawing our forces to the borders of the United States is utterly foolish. Although I agree some restructuring is necessary, to not be pro-active against Terror is dangerously naive. Thankfully, Americans have rejected thsi 19th century isolationist thinking that is archaic and outdated. Ron Paul has been exposed as the man without a clue. His campaign is finished and we as a nation are far better off.

If you think that's what Paul thinks, then you don't understand his platform fully...he's not against showing force when it is merritted...he's against policing the world and inviting hatred agasint Americans-big difference!

His position is clear. "No..we will not go to war."
Nothing clearer than that. He doesn't want to combat it. He is just the fiscally conservative version of Jimmy Carter. Blame America first. We cannot fight terror with the M.A.D. theory we did against the USSR. The M.A.D. worked cuz the Soviets were rational. There's nothing rational about people
who want to die so they can reach heaven by killing you.

So governmental foreign policies can actively provoke hatred towards Americans; and when the source of this provocation unleashes their hatred in some tangible way, then we go in (without declaring war) and invade sovereign land, killing hundreds of thousands of inocent people in the process...honestly, what kind of world are you hoping for? What kind of government are you rooting for? I am always amazed at how easily people get conned into accepting a philosophy of death...

Taking away the threat of war hinders our stance vis a vis any other nation or terrorist network. If they KNOW we are not going to attack them no matter what, they will be that much more aggressive. If the threat of war is there, they are going to be more cautious. Paul said "No, we do not go to war." That is pretty clear he stands in line with Jimmy Carter, the biggest disaster of the last 50 years.

I really think that you are taking that line out of context...I specifically remember Ron Paul saying that under an open invasion by an agressor, retaliation would occur; however, outside of that situation, there is seldom the need to GO LOOKING FOR trouble when our national security is not at stake; and never to excersice preemptive war which is wht the gov has done...we are LESS safe under those circumstances... RP is not soft, I asure you...

There is politics and reality. In Politics, Carter was a failure. In reality, he was probably the most honest and truthful president to ever hold office and this is coming from a conservative. His legacy suffers not due to his performance or any lack of leadership but due to the wall of political resistance built around him at the time. Bush, Clinton and Bush W have done more to destroy this country than all previous presidents combined. There is no such thing as a terrorist network.

Every war has profiteers. That doesn't mean we shouldn't engage in military conflict just because some guy is going to make money off it. There are higher things at stake, such as our very lives. Paul's head in the sand approach to terrorism is outright dangerous and a fantasy. The Jihadists don't stop at anything. They will still come at us regardless of what Paul feels us interfering in the world. India has been under seige from them forever even til this very day as seen by the Mumbai attacks

My friend, you miss the point entirely. This is not about people profiting from war. It's about Profit being the sole motivating factor for all wars. That's a huge distinction. There are no terrorists.. or what I should say is the terrorist resided within the intelligence agencies of the world. The job of the CIA is to find commodities in the world and steal them. They attempt to bribe the leaders through the IMF/world bank etc, if that does not work, they kill them.
