I must say that I liked Black Button more but this one was decent. I'm not a big fan of the main character's acting but the Dad does a great job.

I stumbled on some of these through a search, The Window blew me away, cried at the end.
The producers of this film should dethrone some of the hollywood hacks who pump out so much crap Many kudos on this short

As you find out in the end the main character is already laying on a bed in hospital taking his last breathes. The film uses the pub as a symbol for everyone gathering around his hospital bed to say goodbye to him as he is dieing. And his mother is 'at the window' waiting for him which symbolizes her waiting for him in 'heaven'.

the first seconds till he reached the group the protagonist's acting was good...but acting with words definitely wasnt his skill. neither was it the group's. well the "dad" was really good. i also liked him in "black button". whats his name? oh and the film was incredible! really touching and the background story..excellent! make me want to make movies as well

a bit deeper than Black Button, not quite as direct but same subject of passing through which makes people think about their own death and the death of loved ones
funnily enough I had a dream about not being able to talk to a Brother-in-Law who passed away in 1982 last night and I got a deep feeling of helplessness until I woke up

The opening sequence seemed rather pretentious and too long for an 8 minute film, but otherwise I really enjoyed it.

This short film was well directed but the main actor didn't carry the film. He was acting over the top with basic facal expressions. The story was too deep to make an impact to the average viewer. With one liners not well put into the film e.g. the bar man. It brings the quailty of the film down making the film unable to reach it's full protencal. Overall the script was average at best with same one liners repeated normally giving a good effect but not here as the line was poorly written 4/10
