People think Bolo looked great at 50 in this movie. But Van Damme will look even better when he's 50.
He's 48 now and I saw that karate promo he did and he looks in great shape still. Definitely will be better than Bolo was at 50.

It doesn't get much better than this. The hordes of Asians ranting and raving with fitfulls of money (every sport event in Asia is done this way) slow motion foot-in-face moments, the primal screams, and Van Damme's training flashback followed by total enlightenment and inevitable foot-bashing victory. Combine with drum machine backtrack and dumb blonde girly interest and you got it made.

Yes, Bolo Yeung is now 70. Good piece of trivia. Hell that's some physique for 50 when this was made! Somehow though I suspect his speaking parts were dubbed-over =)

As a kid I was a fan but in hindsight, Van Damme is way overrated. Compared to Bruce Lee or the likes of Jet Li and Tony Jaa, the choreography of his fight scenes was awful; single kick attacks with few if any combinations, blocks or counters. He is a decent practitioner of his kicks displaying his good dynamic flexibility but even so this is ruined by the dramatic slow mo sequences and exaggerated facial expressions and groans. Between 88-96 he seemed cool but now you look back and think WTF?
