The primary difference between humans and trees in the sense of living is that we have a conscious intelligence, dv122. Outside of that, yes, a tree is just as alive as we are. That shouldn't surprise you though, a tree is a living organism, just like we are, the only difference is our evolutionary difference.

Here is the bottom line logical argument, folks: If God is all-powerful, no baby can be "killed" via abortion that God wants to be born. Likewise, no baby that God did not intend to be born can be born. This is unassailable logic: either God is all-powerful & can/will thwart man's vain & paltry attempts at control... or HE can't, and therefor is not all-powerful. You just cannot have it both ways. That is why the whole issue of abortion is BULLSHIT.

Well, it would seem that an all powerful being would have more than two choices. He may chose to do something different than His total expression of power and His expression may even be benign. Especially if He wishes to allow us to chooose love. If He wished us to choose love, that would mean
that He would have to allow us to things that are really not loving. An all powerful being could give that choice.

I personally think that murdering a fetus/baby (abortion) should be legal if a woman gets raped, is at terrible health, has a high chance of dying during birth, or is going to have a baby in India before getting married (woman get killed in India for having babies before marriage). I think it should be illegal to murder a fetus/baby if a woman isn't raped & is in good health. If they can't support the baby, than there's always adoption, which is better than murdering your own baby.

While developing or growing, putting labels on it a fetus because it doesn't have this trait or that trait logically will get yourself in trouble with the breathing living as for example, someone missing half of his brain or has a smaller understaning of self awareness, technically should be lesser human than other's who are more advanced in that area. A baby doesn't even know he's a male or female till at least a couple years of age. These things do not in themselves define us as human beings.

Lets say an incest victim has her baby. Lets also say that the baby is a result of a man raping his daughter. Because of similarity in the genes, the kid may suffer several physical defects. What is the mother going to tell her son when he asks who his father is? What if his friends at school finds out? Thatll be fun for him. What if everytime she looks at her son, she is reminded of being violated by her own father? How can ANYONE but the victim decide what to do in a case like this?

Proliferrrrrrrrrrrrr Something folks like you willfully ignore is that Roe V Wade did not grant any right to abortion... It forbade government control of reproduction. The decision expressed the concern that once any control was established, that there was no guarantee it wouldn't be used. China controls reproduction. Maybe one day we will decide that radical fundys shouldn't breed. The control, once established could then force abortions upon the unwilling.
